How do you promote your sites?

Question is how do you promote your web sites? Which directory/forum do you use to promote your sites?

I plan on advertising my forum on other people web sites, maybe exchange links with them.

There are only a few serious directories that deserve a reciprocal links, so I guess not so many directory's.

Which one do you use Rancid?

DMOZ and Yahoo Directory's also Starting Point and Canny Link are one of the best out there in my opinion.

Directory basically is for link building purpose, dont expect that directory can generate traffic to your site. For the forum posting, it is one of the effective way to generate traffic but you gotta choose the forum that are in same niche as your site and making a quality post.

Well link building, IMO, is a good way of building traffic. And honstely, it wouldn't hurt your site one bit.

From experimentation (trial and error), I've found link building via forums that allow links in signature to be very effective and honorably liberal. Quality post including links to relevant pages or websites help aid conversation building and thus new traffic to your site. It's hard work but pays off in time. You have to commit atleast five hours a day to link building with relevant and non-relevant sites. If you are trying to convert your traffic into cash then you'll have to link to non-relevant sites in an effort to acquire a new market. That's just my opinion. - Free Advertising Forums

We're trying so hard, too.. Sometimes just seems impossible.
